Project: In Sight: A Guide to Design With Low Vision In Mind
Publisher: RotoVision
Date: 2004

The things we read and use every day, and the places we go, are rarely if ever designed with visual impairments in mind. And yet those that are make life a little easier - and more enjoyable - for everyone.

In Sight homes in on a particular area of inclusive design: visual accessibility. It spotlights examples of consumer products, public environments and graphic information whose development incorporated the input of blind and/or partially sighted people, leading to, in many cases, some extraordinary solutions and experiences. The book itself has been designed to be visually accessible (following RNIB guidelines) as well as visually appealing.

In Sight was conceived and written by Michael Evamy and Lucienne Roberts, and designed by Lucienne Roberts.

‘The sadness for anyone who cannot see the outer beauty that designers create is that there is too seldom any inner beauty for them to enjoy. When products are counter-intuitive and over-complex, when words are printed too small and and when building interiors are poorly-lit, we all lose out.'
