Michael has written about design since 1990, when
he joined DESIGN magazine. Since going freelance four years later, he
has contributed to numerous journals and newspapers, including Blueprint,
Design Week, FX, Graphics International, the Financial Times and The
Observer.
More recently, Michael has concentrated on book projects. In 2003, World
Without Words, a journey through a kingdom of symbols, icons, logos
and pictorial instructions, was published. It will be followed in 2004
by In Sight, a guide to design that includes the needs of visually impaired
people.
